REASONS to OPPOSE
There are many reasons to oppose the Perrin Ranch Wind Development.
Decrease in property values !
High Risk for Financial Losses in our local economy for Tourism and Hunting !
Increased risk for flooding as a result of the damage to the land and the Cataract Canyon Watershed !
Viewscapes (Wide Open Vistas) will be obstructed !
Our tax dollars will pay for the installation of the 62 wind turbines !
Power produced will NOT be used to supply OUR homes or businesses !
Power will go to the grid and out of state !
NextEra Lawsuits show the wind turbines do NOT produce the proposed power, yet we will pay to finance this venture with our taxes.
High mortality risk for birds and bats - especially for the Golden Eagle !
Big Game will be displaced during installation and herds will decrease !
Predators and Scavengers will replace Elk and Antelope as birds and bats are slaughtered !
Negative impact on hunting and our local economy as a result of a BAN on hunting within the 65,000 acre complex !
Noise from the turbines will present a risk to our health !
Flicker caused by the turning turbine will present a risk to our health !
Low Frequency Vibration will present a risk to our health !
Night sky light will be effected by the warning lights placed at the hub of the turbines !
Reports from communities in the USA and Europe say the WIND ENERGY companies Do NOT clean up their messes ! The damaged turbines are NOT removed !
Fire Danger is a great risk to our Forests, property and homes !
NextEra's proposal has NO Safety Plan to protect our properties from fire or flying debris !

LOCAL ECONOMY IMPACT
The local economy of Williams, Arizona and the Grand Canyon Corridor (Highway 64) are based on two major resources: Tourism and Hunting
WIND FARMS are INDUSTRIAL WIND POWER SITES which will not contribute to the protection of our natural resources or local economy! The income from our two major resources Tourism and Hunting have and will continue to provide more revenue than the proposed income described by NextEra in their presentations or news Ads.
Wind Farms are Killing fields for birds - raptors, eagles, and bats!
As a result of this, it is a fact that our current ecosystem will be altered and we will see an increase in Predators and Scavengers which will replace Elk and Antelope as birds and bats are slaughtered !
NextEra would have you believe that Big Game will leave during the installation and return within a year after the natural terrain has been dramatically scarred by the installation of sixty-two wind turbines.
Regardless of whether the Big Game returns or not, our local economy will suffer greatly as a result of the Irrevocable Agreement between NextEra and the rancher, Mike McCauley, which states hunting will be banned on the Perrin Ranch Center for Wind - all 65,000 acres.
Irrevocable means that if McCauley sells; the new owner is bound to honor the same agreement! This agreement is a public document and can be found on the Coconino County web site.
This will be a MAJOR impact on Hunting and our local economy !
